Bobby N. Holstead, PhD, has over 25 years of clinical, consultative, and management experience in the field of behavioral health. He received his PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Mississippi in 1978. After completing his internship at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, he served as the Clinical Psychologist at Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque, NM, from 1978-1981. Ever since leaving the USAF, Dr. Holstead has been in private practice with a focus in treating adults with depression, anxiety, traumatic stress, and complicated medical conditions. He also was a founder/owner, Vice President, and Director of Adult Programs at Aspen Behavioral Health, PC, from 1997-2005, here in New Mexico. At Aspen, he helped develop and manage a statewide provider network of over 250 behavioral health providers and he also helped manage the delivery of behavioral health services to a total of about 75,000 members in both commercial and government funded insurance plans in New Mexico. He has held Clinical Associate positions at the UNM Department of Psychology and the UNM School of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry. Dr. Holstead has been the Secretary-Treasurer, as well as the Chair of the Disaster Response Committee of the New Mexico Psychological Association. For three years, Dr. Holstead served on the Panel of Oral Examiners for the New Mexico Board of Psychology Examiners.
